Last week's Stampede contained profiles of new professors on campus this semester. This week, we have two new staff members and a professor to introduce.

Debbie Harbin joined Milligan's staff this year as the administrative assistant for academic affairs. She is the first face anyone sees when they walk into Academic Dean Mark Matson's office.

Harbin graduated from Messiah College in Grantham, Pa. in 2003 with a bachelor's degree in English. She also has a master's degree of fine arts in playwriting from Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.

Harbin is married to Jeff Harbin, who you may recognize as the new public services librarian. They currently have no children and no pets, and "nothing to nurture," Harbin said. Harbin loves watching reality television, particularly "Project Runway," and is a little ashamed to admit "Biggest Loser." She loves reading Jane Austen, but has recently been reading non-fiction political works.

In addition to working as administrative assistant, Harbin has also been working with the Theater for Young Audiences class with Dick Major, area chair of performing, visual and communicative arts.

As a playwright, she is helping with the production of Kidz Rock the Vote, a production the class will put on for elementary school students as well as one performance during Homecoming Weekend.

Harbin is also working on her own play entitled, "Something Good, Something Bad." She is currently working with a script about the Cherry sisters, a group of Iowa farmer's daughters who found themselves orphaned and took a terribly performed variety act on the road to make money, eventually finding success because of how bad they really are. Harbin hopes to have this script done by mid-October.

Anthony "Tony" Jones will be serving as an assistant to both Beth Anderson, director ofthe Institute for Servant Leadership and Traci Smith, director of student success.

"Great job, beautiful countryside, supportive administration and wonderful faculty," Jones said was the reason for being at Milligan.

Jones is currently working on his master's in higher education administration at Geneva College andhopes to go into student development later.

Jones hails from Belleville, Ohio, a city so small he said it could be referred to as a village. Jones graduated Milligan in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in both business and accounting.
