The Johnson City Symphony Orchestra and Milligan University Orchestra performed challenging pieces together at Mary B. Martin Auditorium in a concert titled “Youthful Inspirations.” Musicians and audience members celebrated the collaboration, with more music events planned later this spring.
After a winter storm canceled local church services, Milligan students organized and held a one-hour worship service in Lower Seeger with about 75 students attending. The service featured student-led music, a sermon on Matthew 5 by senior Bryant Magness, and communion shared together.
Church music varies widely, sparking debates about what counts as proper worship. Despite different styles, from traditional hymns to hip-hop, the message emphasizes embracing diversity and grace in how people connect with God.
Milligan alumni and hip-hop artist, Terrence Gadsden, joined campus for Magness Lecture. He spoke in chapel that morning and later held a concert that night.
