One of the stories that President Bill Greer shares at the beginning of every school year in August is about Rosalyn. This woman went to Milligan in 1929 and she made quite an impression for only having been here one semester. She had quite the laundry list of demerits.

She got in trouble for loaning (we don’t know what she loaned, just that she did), talking to boys in a classroom before class (the scandal!), and the worst thing of all–she was caught dancing!

Even though Rosalyn is not mentioned again after that semester, students can still feel her presence on campus. There are reports of strange things happening in Hart late at night.  Dancing music has been heard in the basement. There are reports of giggling in empty rooms. And some students have found that their stuff has been moved around in their rooms.

Also, one student said she heard an eerie “Want to dance?” when she was getting her laundry from the basement.

So far, everything that the ghost of Rosalyn has done has not been malicious. There is no need to be anxious or worried–but beware that Rosalyn is not finished causing mischief at Milligan College.
