In a heartfelt display of gratitude, Milligan University launched a Veterans Day card-writing initiative, setting up tables in Sutton and Derthick halls on November 8. The response was so overwhelming that additional sessions were scheduled for Monday, November 11, in Derthick from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The handwritten “Thank You for your Service” cards will be distributed to 50 veteran residents through a local housing management company, with remaining cards being delivered to nursing homes.

Among Milligan’s student veterans is Nolan Easlic, a former Marine Corps service member now majoring in Exercise Science with a minor in coaching. “My experience in the Marines made me the person I am today,” says Easlic.
