Gabriel Logan, director of Student Success, Disability Services and the Goah Scholars Program, is no longer employed at Milligan, Dean of Students Kit Dotson announced during a Goah meeting on Oct. 20. Dotson did not give a reason for the change.
The Goah Program, established in 2007 in honor of Betty Hill Goah, was created to fulfill Milligan University’s intention of being a strong, vibrant and diverse Christian community. The program offers scholarships to select students and is “designed to enhance the educational experience of all Milligan students and better prepare them to be good citizens,” according to the program’s website. Goah scholarships provide up to full tuition and are awarded as “last-dollar” aid after all federal, state and private scholarships and grants have been applied toward tuition. They apply to a maximum of eight semesters.
Logan assumed the role of Goah director in Sept. 2023. In fall 2025, he also became head of Disability Services, taking over from Chase McGlamery, director of Residence life and Production Services.
“The university is not at liberty to discuss private personnel matters,” Dotson said in an email responding to a request for comment on Logan’s departure. Members of the Goah Diversity Committee as well as Goah students declined to comment. Nicole Misterly, who has been involved with Disability Services since Logan’s departure, also declined to discuss transitions within the department.
On Nov. 3 — two weeks after Logan’s departure was announced in the Goah meeting — students and faculty received an email stating that Heather Richardson had assumed the duties of director of Student Success and Disability Services. Richardson, a professor of composition, has taught at Milligan since 2021. The university has not otherwise publicly addressed Logan’s departure. The Stampede has requested additional information from the administration but has not received a response.
Logan, a Milligan alumnus, served as SGA president and played basketball during his time as a student. He also participated in campus activities and the Collective Learning Leadership Society.
The Student Government Association will host a town hall meeting with Milligan President Stephen Waers on Nov. 10 to discuss scholarships.
