On Feb. 22, senior Elijah Bredwood set the Milligan men’s basketball single-game scoring record with 54 points in a 101-92 win over Tennessee Wesleyan. The game, rescheduled because of snow, marked the final contest of the 2025-26 season inside Steve Lacy Fieldhouse.
Bredwood broke the previous record of 52 points, set in 2002 by Lance Ashby. He finished 20 of 40 from the field, including eight 3-pointers, and six points at the free-throw line. Bredwood scored 31 points in the first half to help Milligan take a 54-45 lead into halftime.
“I really can’t even explain the feeling I had during the game,” Bredwood said. “Just the journey that I’ve been on the past four years — God has brought me so far. I couldn’t be more grateful for the senior year I was able to have.”
Junior Te’Jon McDaniel-McCormick added 18 points in the win, while freshman Liviu Anton scored nine and freshman Jake Benham had eight. Bredwood also recorded six assists and nine rebounds.
Milligan finished the season 9-19 overall and 7-12 in conference play.
When asked about his plans after graduation, Bredwood said he intends to pursue professional basketball opportunities overseas.
“I do plan on trying to go play professionally overseas,” he said. “I’m extremely blessed to have this opportunity and I am very excited to see what is in store for me next.”
