Despite a week of menacing forecast leading into the weekend, the Milligan area escaped the worst of a predicted winter storm. The university proactively postponed all athletic events over the weekend including softball, swimming, bowling, men and women’s basketball games. The Alumni Day basketball celebration was also delayed.

The impact of the weather extended into the start of the week. While a delay was initially announced Monday, classes were ultimately cancelled. Brent Nipper, director of property and risk management shared that there was no damage  Nipper said. “Our grounds and maintenance teams did a great job monitoring campus conditions and systems and were prepared to address any problems that might have occurred.”
