Milligan’s Delight ministry has launched on campus for the second year in a row. The ministry’s kickoff took place on Sept. 18 in the Jeanes Room in the Village Loop.
The women’s ministry was started last year by Milligan alumna Joy Reks, who graduated this past spring. Senior Marnie Talon, one of the Delight leaders, said, “I don’t think this would exist without Joy. She was incredible and brought this ministry to this campus.”
Talon is a returning Delight leader who was asked by Reks to serve at the end of her sophomore year. “I had been praying about ways to serve my community and I wanted some ways to pour out,” Talon said. “I felt like I wanted to give back to other people.”
Talon is continuing her role in Delight from last year, and new leaders have stepped up as well.
Sophomore Ariella Jones is serving her first year on the Delight leadership team.

“My roles are worship leader and Delight Dates coordinator,” Jones said. “Being a new leader is really exciting but I’m a little bit nervous just because I want to do well.”
Jones said she feels qualified to lead because Delight “touched her heart” as a member last year. She hopes God can now work through her to impact others.
First-time member Claire Garwood, a freshman, said she heard about Delight from Talon.
“Marnie is my RA. She has been advertising it to us, and some of my friends have been talking about it,” Garwood said.
“I’m excited to be with a community of Christian girls, hang out with them in college, and build those relationships,” she said.
“It’s never too late to jump in, even if you come and don’t know anybody,” Talon said. “I want Delight to be a place where anyone can be welcome.”
Delight ministry meetings will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays in the Jeanes Room.
