SGA has officially announced the results of the recent Freshman Class elections, welcoming a new group of leaders to campus. SGA President Nia Ailshie revealed the winners following a close race.

Bereket “BK” Evans, an exercise science major from Morristown, TN, was elected Freshman Class President. Evans, who is also on the basketball team and a Goah Scholar, shared his enthusiasm, stating, “I’m excited to get to know everyone on campus, and to get to contribute a good experience for everyone.”

Londyn Cates, an intercultural studies major from Cottontown, TN, who also minors in church leadership and Spanish, expressed her eagerness to serve as Female Representative. Cates, a member of the bowling team, said she’s “excited to serve and help my other freshman classmates.”

Marion Tallon, a nursing major from Houston, TX, is also an honors student and plays violin in the orchestra. She spoke about her new role, saying, “I am so excited to be a part of the inner workings of campus. I want to lead my class academically and spiritually!”

In the male representative race, William Pomeroy, a church leadership major from Huntsville, AL, secured one of the two spots. Pomeroy is also a member of the basketball team.

A notable tie for the second male representative position was resolved later in the day, with Manny Kromah being announced as the winner. Kromah, an exercise science major from Knoxville, TN, is on the soccer team.

All newly elected officials were sworn in during a Senate meeting on the same evening, ready to begin their work representing the freshman class.
