Milligan University won both the men’s and women’s Division I titles at the 2026 College Disc Golf National Championships. Several players also earned top individual honors, helping make it a historic performance for the program.
Milligan’s Model United Nations team won 12 awards at a regional conference in Charlotte, achieving their best performance ever. Students earned top team and individual honors while building skills in public speaking, teamwork, and leadership.
Milligan’s swim teams had a strong showing at the NAIA Championships, finishing fourth for men and eighth for women while setting multiple school records. Riley Renaud led the way with a national title in the 1,650 freestyle, and several teammates earned runner-up finishes and All-American honors.
Senior Elijah Bredwood scored a school-record 54 points to lead Milligan to a 101–92 win over Tennessee Wesleyan on Feb. 22. He broke the previous 52-point record and plans to pursue professional basketball opportunities overseas after graduation.
Milligan University has named Jamie Graves as the new head coach of its men’s and women’s swim teams. Graves, a former college swimmer and experienced coach, returns to the conference and says he plans to build on the team’s strong foundation and focus on developing character and leadership.
Milligan’s women placed second and the men finished eighth at the NAIA Cross-Country National Championships, earning a combined third-place finish. Ellen-Mary Kearney led the women with a runner-up finish, while Bryson Lewis was the top men’s finisher.
Milligan University announced that Athletics Director Christian Pope has left his position, though Pope told the swim team the decision was not mutual. President Waers named Jeff Bourn as interim director and said the university would not comment further on the personnel matter.
With several academic programs suspended, Milligan students are adjusting their spring schedules and finding alternative courses to stay on track. While some feel stressed about their majors and future careers, the administration is working with advisors to help students complete their degrees.
After not making the ETSU cheer team, Ramsey Greenwell was offered a spot at Milligan University, becoming its first male cheerleader in over a decade. Cheerleading at Milligan has helped him grow in confidence, faith, and community.
Commuters at Milligan may face challenges connecting but can build community by staying on campus and getting involved. With effort and patience, they can still feel at home.
