Gabby JonesEditor in Chief

Gabby is a multimedia journalism major with a minor in Political Science from Elizabethton, TN. She is a Writing Center Coach at the Writing Center and a Goah Scholar. Gabby lives in Johnson City with her husband Silas and her cat Poe (yes as in Edgar Allan). She loves horror, cooking, and anything peach flavored.


Alissa Smith Copy Editor and Reporter

Alissa is a multimedia journalism major with a minor in humanities from Jonesborough, TN. She is a member of the dance team and lives in Jonesborough with her family and her two cats. She loves iced coffee, musicals, rom-coms, and anything pink.


Emily HaasSocial Media Manager and Reporter

Emily is a multimedia journalism major with a minor in humanities. She is from Hildesheim, Germany. Before she came to Milligan she lived in Canada for two years. Emily is on the swim team. She loves 2000’s RomComs, reading, and pets.


Jocelyn WaitsWebmaster

Jocelyn is a nursing major with a minor in psychology from Newport, TN. She is part of the swim team at Milligan. She loves to go out on nature adventures and make new friends. Jocelyn’s favorite thing on campus are the campus cats.


Danielle RobertsPhoto Editor and Reporter

Danielle is a multimedia journalism major with a minor in children’s ministry from Kingsport, TN. She is a member of the Milligan University Concert Choir. Danielle also loves spending time with her cat, knitting, and the color pink.


Stella TomeoReporter

Stella is a journalism major and humanities minor from Denver, Colorado. She enjoys writing about religion and art. Stella can usually be found in the Library, working in her garden, or anywhere there’s a good concert.


Chris CoxReporter

Chris is a humanities and bible major from Columbus, Ohio. When studying alternates between focused work and procrastination. Chris enjoys reading, playing piano, or scrolling through photos of his dog, Odis, whom he misses very much.


Ravenn MoningtonColumnist

Ravenn is a double major in worship leadership and psychology with a minor in humanities from Elizabethton, TN. She is part of the Ministry Program and Women’s Chorale. Ravenn also works outside of Milligan as a Registered Behavior Technician. She likes southern gospel concerts and hanging out with friends.


Professor Jim DahlmanAdviser

Professor S. J. Dahlman (AKA Jim) has been advising The Stampede and teaching journalism, creative nonfiction, and other courses since the turn of the century. He’s worked as a reporter, columnist, magazine editor, author, minister, and warehouse gopher. He’s married to Stacy, is a proud father and grandfather, and is the chief steward for two cats. He likes to be outdoors, work crossword puzzles, play with words, read good books and articles, and watch soccer (especially Liverpool).
