Senior Elijah Bredwood scored a school-record 54 points to lead Milligan to a 101–92 win over Tennessee Wesleyan on Feb. 22. He broke the previous 52-point record and plans to pursue professional basketball opportunities overseas after graduation.
The Milligan women’s basketball team won the AAC tournament championship 64–62 over Reinhardt to secure back-to-back titles, led by Callie Reeder’s 16 points and MVP Semaj Clark.
Milligan’s men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams both won the AAC Championships, with the men earning their fifth straight title and the women winning their second in three years. Several athletes set meet records and won major awards, and the season will finish at the NAIA Indoor Championships in March.
Milligan University has named Jamie Graves as the new head coach of its men’s and women’s swim teams. Graves, a former college swimmer and experienced coach, returns to the conference and says he plans to build on the team’s strong foundation and focus on developing character and leadership.
Milligan University’s men’s and women’s swim teams won the AAC Championships, earning a sixth straight title for the men and a fifth in a row for the women. The teams set records and earned many top finishes, and they will compete next at the NAIA Swimming and Diving Championships in Indiana.
Milligan University’s fall sports teams saw strong postseason performances, including women’s cross-country placing second nationally and men’s cycling earning three national titles. Soccer, volleyball, and other teams also made tournament appearances, highlighting a successful semester across multiple sports.
Milligan’s women placed second and the men finished eighth at the NAIA Cross-Country National Championships, earning a combined third-place finish. Ellen-Mary Kearney led the women with a runner-up finish, while Bryson Lewis was the top men’s finisher.
Milligan’s JV women’s basketball team beat Southwest Virginia Community College 59–48 with a stronger second half and tough interior defense. Player Emma Cutshall credited improved shooting and energetic fan support for the win.
Milligan University’s men’s and women’s cross-country teams won the AAC Championships, marking the women’s sixth and men’s seventh consecutive titles. Ellen-Mary Kearney set a record breaking run and earned Women’s Runner of the Year, while several teammates and coach Chris Layne received conference honors.
After not making the ETSU cheer team, Ramsey Greenwell was offered a spot at Milligan University, becoming its first male cheerleader in over a decade. Cheerleading at Milligan has helped him grow in confidence, faith, and community.
