Milligan College’s Campus Activity Board has organized events for students staying on campus over fall break, Oct 10-11. The trips include a hike at Grandfather Mountain and visiting Linville falls Thursday and Friday, respectfully.

Since we have a student population that does not leave over a short break, like fall break, and likely have limited funds, I keep [the trips] cheap or free,” director of campus activities Jason Onks said.

The fall break events are logically selected. Day trips are kept within a two-hour drive or less from campus, and there is typically high adventure option that may be more strenuous and a lower adventure option that is less strenuous to easy.

“Big views and water are always points of interest,” Onks said. “Also, I like to highlight the beauty of our region and show students who may not be from this area what a beautiful part of the country we live it.”

This year’s activities accomplish these criteria according to Onks. “Our first trip to Grandfather Mountain will be the big views day and Linville will be a water day, with views of a couple of different waterfalls along easy hiking trails,” Onks said.

CAB typically takes between 8-15 students, and if any Milligan students still want to join, then they should email Onks at Jonks@milligan.edu
