A new gathering area is nearing completion on Milligan’s campus. The university announced that students can expect to use the new pavilion, located near the Student Union Building (SUB), later this semester.

The project, which has been funded entirely through private donor contributions, serves as a tribute to former President Bill Greer and First Lady Edwina Greer. Besides providing a new venue for campus events and student socialization, the structure was designed to provide students with convenient, direct access to the existing restroom facilities within the Student Union.

The contractor has set an estimated date of March 20 for “substantial completion.” While students can expect to begin using the space shortly after that date, the university has scheduled the formal celebration for late April.

  • Contractor Completion: March 20
  • Official Dedication: April 23–24 (to coincide with the spring Board of Trustees meetings)

“We anticipate the pavilion being available for use later this semester,” Brent Nipper shared, noting that more specific details regarding the dedication ceremony will be released as the event approaches.
