Last week Milligan University hosted two student art events to end the semester.
On Thursday, students enrolled in the COMM 180 storytelling class presented stories in the McGlothlin-Street Theater. The annual event is titled “Buff Tales”. The students presented their final stories of the semester in front of an audience of students and faculty.
Eight students presented stories ranging from “the story of Judas from his point of view” to adapted children’s books and even stories from their own personal lives, with some students presenting more than one story.
On Friday Milligan held the 20th “famous for 15 minutes” student film festival.
Like the Buff Tales, the film festival acts as the final project for students enrolled in the FILM 330 class “intermediate filmmaking and video production”.
Nine students presented their films in the McGlothlin-Street Theater to another audience made up of students and faculty..
The films included a short animated film set to a poem, a film journal, and a music video. Three documentaries were also produced by the students, two of which honored the legacy of two Milligans professors who are retiring at the end of the 2022 semester.
Both the Buff Tales and the film festival will return next year.
