Milligan will launch a new platform, Milligan Central, in July to replace outdated systems and improve communication, data access and the overall campus experience. The transition also includes moving student email to Microsoft 365, with full system implementation continuing into 2027.
Milligan University honored over 100 students and faculty during a series of award ceremonies from April 22–24, recognizing achievements in athletics, academics and the arts. The events included the BUFFYS, an academic convocation and a celebration showcase, each highlighting outstanding accomplishments from the past year.
The Milligan University Orchestra and Concert Choir performed a themed concert called “At the Threshold,” featuring music about life, death, and transition, alongside local high school choirs. Despite logistical challenges, the collaboration created a powerful musical experience and highlighted the emotional and educational impact of music.
Letterpress artist Daniel Swartz spoke at Milligan about creativity, failure, and avoiding distractions like social media, encouraging students to focus on growth and purpose. He also led a hands-on print workshop and shared his journey of building a career rooted in faith and making tangible work.
Free beginner ballroom dance classes are held Monday evenings at Milligan, taught by Keith Edwards with help from Mia Matthews, covering styles like waltz, swing, and foxtrot. The program builds confidence and community, and ends with a dance social on April 17 at Mountain Home Ballroom.
Milligan University’s artist-in-residence Kendall Hamelryck opened her exhibition “Building a Life” on Feb. 15, sharing artwork inspired by her faith, marriage, and experiences with children. Her mixed media pieces reflect themes of spiritual growth and contentment, and the exhibit will remain on display through March 6.
