Milligan’s Fireside Grill remains closed since the 29th due to several employees testing positive for COVID-19. While the Fireside Grill is being kept closed it will be sanitized deeply prior to the reopening.

The Grill often acts as another choice for meals for students, especially if they are not able to make it to the cafe during the designated meal times.

The grill also acts as a popular safe place for students to study, talk or just hang out.

Students seem to be generally displeased with the situation. Some are upset that they lost a good study spot and some are upset that they lost an alternate place to receive meals.

“It’s inconvenient for me because it’s the easiest way for me to get breakfast after practice in the morning before my 8a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays,” says Junior  Dylan Powell.

While he is frustrated with the closing, Dylan expressed understanding that the Grill was closed to keep everyone safe

“It’s sad that it’s closed because sometimes I want something other than the caf food and that’s the best option,” said sophomore Molly Dines. “I will probably go back immediately because I have a free Starbucks drink from filling out the caf survey.”

Regarding how the Grill handled the outbreak, Dines said, “I think it did not need to be closed for a whole week. I think one or two days would have been enough to disinfect everything.”

The Grill will reopen on Nov. 2 for lunch only.
