Three students shared their testimonies at My Two Words on Feb. 25 in Seeger Chapel. Senior Shawn Allen , junior Josiah Loveall and senior Rachel Dove spoke to fellow students about how God has moved in their lives and offered them hope.

My Two Words is organized by the Apostolos Missions Club. The club’s goal is to use My Two Words as a way to bring the word of God to campus. Student speakers serve as witnesses to the gospel by choosing two words that emphasize the overall deeper, and personal impacts of the stories they tell during the event.

Charlie Moseley, a student leader of the Apostolos Missions Club, commented on Thursday’s event.

Students gathered in a socially distanced fashion in upper Seeger for My Two Words.

“Tonight went really well, the speakers shared a lot. It was really vulnerable and real, and I appreciate that. I really think the Lord moved in the words that they said,” Moseley said.

Junior Max Garbe was among the crowd of students who showed up to listen to their classmates speak and  felt moved after hearing his friends tell their stories.

“My Two Words is always very enlightening to me. Two of these guys I know, and I already knew one of their stories, but not the other two speakers’. It always amazes me how much more there is to learn about people than you already know,” said Garbe. “It’s always a very sweet and convicting thing.”

The event is designed to give students the opportunity to lead and help other students in their walks of faith by sharing their own experiences.

Shawn Allen openly let students hear how God has worked in his life and recognized that sharing stories like his can encourage others in their journey too.

“Life is a story worth sharing, and having just shared a part of mine I feel closer to my fellow humans in the sense that we all walk this road together and we are not truly alone,” Allen said.

My Two Words is a student-led event. Anyone interested in sharing their testimony with campus can contact Apostolos’ student leaders, Charlie Moseley and Hannah Luzzader.
