With February coming to an end, Milligan’s Multicultural Affairs Student Organization, hosted a bonfire on the village lawn on Thursday night to celebrate Black History Month. Students could help themselves to free food, music, and games as the school came together to not only recognize, but honor the achievements made by African Americans throughout history and into the modern day. Not only was the event a good representation of how the Milligan community hopes to celebrate the African American community, but also a glimpse towards how they wish to further diversity as a whole.

GOAH Scholar and Milligan sophomore Jacob Wilson believes that groups like MCA and GOAH are vital to increasing diversity on campus

“I think MCA did a good job with the event,” Wilson said.  “While I would love to see more events like this in the future, I think it is a perfect example of doing the best with what we have, especially with COVID-19.”
