The Milligan women’s basketball team won the Appalachian Athletic Conference title on Saturday, Feb. 28. The buffs took the win over Reinhardt University with a score of 64 to 62, securing a back-to-back conference tournament title. Callie Reeder was the top scorer with 16 points, followed by McKenna Myers and Lina Lyon with 11 points each.
Three Milligan players were named to the All-Tournament Team, as Semaj Clark was honored as MVP and Lyon and Reeder were selected for All-Tourney honors.
Concluding the women’s season, Clark was also named AAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Year, and Kylie Greer was named AAC Coach of the Year. Furthermore, Clark and Myers were named to the AAC All-Conference First Team, and Kenzie Campbell and Lyon were named to the AAC All-Conference Second Team. Both Clark and Campbell got named to the AAC All-Conference All-Defensive team.
The team is now waiting to know who they will play in the NAIA National Championship First Round on March 13. They will learn their destination on Thursday, March 5.
Milligan’s men’s basketball team got eliminated from the AAC Tournament when they lost against Columbia International University on Feb. 21.
