Milligan will launch a new platform, Milligan Central, in July to replace outdated systems and improve communication, data access and the overall campus experience. The transition also includes moving student email to Microsoft 365, with full system implementation continuing into 2027.
Milligan University honored over 100 students and faculty during a series of award ceremonies from April 22–24, recognizing achievements in athletics, academics and the arts. The events included the BUFFYS, an academic convocation and a celebration showcase, each highlighting outstanding accomplishments from the past year.

The Milligan University Orchestra and Concert Choir performed a themed concert called “At the Threshold,” featuring music about life, death, and transition, alongside local high school choirs. Despite logistical challenges, the collaboration created a powerful musical experience and highlighted the emotional and educational impact of music.
Milligan University hosted its 13th annual Rise Above Conference, where over 60 students presented research focused on “Attention and Distraction.” Projects ranged from counseling studies to a solar-powered HVAC system, and the event highlighted the value of student research and presenting before graduation.
About 200 people participated in Milligan’s cafeteria survey, which showed higher satisfaction this year, especially praising friendly staff and popular options like cook-to-order bars and breakfast items. Some concerns included dirty dishes, limited fruit variety, and a desire for more protein, which dining services plans to improve.
AI has become widely used by students, helping with learning and understanding but also raising concerns about cheating and loss of critical thinking. Schools now face challenges in ensuring fairness and maintaining the true purpose of education as AI continues to grow.
International students at Milligan experience differences in academics, culture and social life, which can make adjusting to the United States challenging. Despite this, many say the experience is rewarding because it broadens perspectives and helps them grow personally.
Milligan’s Model United Nations team won 12 awards at a regional conference in Charlotte, achieving their best performance ever. Students earned top team and individual honors while building skills in public speaking, teamwork, and leadership.
Milligan will freeze tuition and required fees for 2026–2027 to keep education affordable, supported by strong budgeting and $5 million in annual external funding. While tuition stays the same, meal plans will rise slightly and one residence hall will increase in cost due to upgrades.
